“Anxiety weighs down the heart, but a kind word cheers it up.”

1/3 of all teenage girls battle anxiety. Over 1 in 10 are on medication for it. Those numbers are rapidly increasing. 1/4 of all women will be medicated for it by the age of 40. You might want to reread that. I’m saddened by those statistics. Only 60% of those on meds are helped by them. Look, we are all aware that life can be hard. Very heavy and difficult things not only can but at some point will happen in all our lives. I find more often than ever before tears in my eyes as I hear stories of hard things that go on in many of my friends and neighbors lives. The news constantly tells stories that will break anyone’s heart. Solomon offers a solution. Kind words spoken by those who know the truth. The promises of scripture give hope and come with the spiritual fruit of joy and peace. There are absolutely times that medication can be a powerful resource when we struggle. However, often what is needed most is people in our journey who speak kind words of faith and encouragement to our story. I am convinced that one of the two great commandments can be summed up in the words “Be Kind”. Kindness is powerful and has spirit infused healing abilities. Today bless others through kindness words. #BeTheEdge
