“The righteous is a guide to his neighbor, but the way of the wicked leads them astray.” Proverbs 12:26 NASB
One thing I’ve observed living in both large and small communities is that people are always watching. Be it neighbors, fellow employees, or friends, they see you even when you are unaware; they are keeping tabs on your actions. For good or bad, your behavior reflects on you as a person in all arenas of your journey. Even though some would ridicule you or try to diminish your right actions (and there certainly are plenty of those people), they know deep down the truly good person you are. Similarly, and even more so, your scandalous behavior cannot be hidden and tends to get amplified when retold by those who notice. It is unavoidable and inescapable; your actions will find you out. That’s why Jesus, in His famous oration to the crowd gathered for what we know as The Sermon on the Mount, implored His followers to live in such a way that their behavior draws others to the Savior. I have many examples of conversations over the years where someone mentions a mutual friend, and I hear the influence their example unknowingly had on them. Today, ponder the reality that we live in the presence of a watching world that is longing for kind and loving examples. #BeTheEdge
