Influencing culture for the Kingdom

Proverbs 12:3 NIV

“No one can be established through wickedness, but the righteous cannot be uprooted.”

Another word for established is entrenched. That word creates visions of being dug in for battle. I like the warrior mentality God plants in the mind and spirit of His children. We live in a world that at it’s very core is hostile to Gods children. That’s not an attack or even value judgment on our governments and institutions. It’s just a biblical fact. The ruler of this world is described in scripture multiple times, none flattering. He us described as masquerading as an angle of light. We are cautioned that he moves around looking people to devoure. We are told he exists only to steal, kill and destroy. Don’t be lulled into complacency. You are a target. That’s why we are told to get outfitted in the full armor of God. It is a battle and the evil ones way will never make you safe or secure. As Gods follower He sets your foundation, your roots, deep in the concrete of His power. It is why Jesus called Himself and His truth ‘The Rock’ and reminded us that as His children our life is built on that solid rock. Larry Norman famously sang of Him, “He’s ‘The Rock’ that doesn’t roll. He’s good for the body and great for the soul. He’s ‘The Rock’ that doesn’t roll.” Today be sure you are deeply rooted in Jesus. #BeTheEdge
