Proverbs 13:17 NIV

“A wicked messenger falls into trouble, but a trustworthy envoy brings healing.” ‬‬

Over the past two days Solomon talked about being kind and telling the truth. Today he reminds us to be trustworthy. What a great run of character qualities we find in the God follower. He goes so far as telling us that a trustworthy person brings healing. Wow! That’s a big deal. Anybody else thinking that the world could use a good dose of healing today? This person brings comfort and satisfaction to others. Solomon is telling us that this person is a source of both things to their family, friends, strangers and even their employer. That’s right, the workplace. I can relate to having staff who gave me great peace and rest knowing they could be trusted to not only do their job but to handle anything that came up in the course of their work. They represented me and the organization well and blessed those who interacted with them. Jesus talked about trustworthy messengers. Ultimately we are to be trustworthy messengers handling the communication of the Gospel to the lost, hurting and broken people of the world we travel. Healing of the soul is the result of feeling safe. Feeling safe is a by product of being able to trust those surrounding our journey. Today bring comfort to those you encounter by being trustworthy, kind and truthful. #BeTheEdge
