Proverbs 13:6 NASB

“Righteousness guards the one whose way is blameless, but wickedness subverts the sinner.” Proverbs 13:6 NASB

Here is the good news and then the really good news. When Solomon speaks here of “the righteous” he is not saying they are sinless. He is saying they are blameless because of Jesus. The really good news is that once you come to Christ, God always sees you through the image of His Son. As an old black preacher once said, “When Satan wants to get to you, he has to come through The Father, then through Jesus, then he has to swim through the blood of Jesus and after all of that He finds you filled with the Holy Spirit. Once he swims through the blood of Jesus you’ve got a saved Satan.” All that is to say that as God sees you, He sees the righteousness of His Son, and what else really matters? You are righteous by your position in Him. In that situation God can protect and bless you the way He created you to be taken care of.  So, we call this a positional truth. I guess it is, but I just call it The Truth. On the other hand, the wicked are on their own facing an enemy that seeks only to steal, kill, and destroy. For the life of me I will never completely understand why anyone, once made aware of The Gospel, would choose to ignore it and fend for themselves in this hostile world. Today, recognize that how God sees you is who you really are and tell the accuser he is not welcome in your story. #BeTheEdge
