“Mockers resent correction, so they avoid the wise.”
Over the years I have intentionally built relationships with men who are outside the things of God. They don’t attend church, go to Bible studies or do many of the typical things we associate with being a Christian. As I mentioned, this was intentional. After listening to their conversations I am convinced that most of them avoid getting beyond a superficial relationship with real Christ followers because they feel uncomfortable that close to the Spirit of God in their hearts and actions. As the wisdom of God is lived out and expressed by His followers it makes the unbeliever feel guilty. This does not excuse the fact that some lost either feel judged by believers or, as I’ve learned from some of these men, they know more about the secret lives of some professing Christians then I wanted to. We cannot write off the lost as resenting our faith. Even if they do. We must live Christ in relationship with them. It’s not always easy but it is always God’s heart. Today love the lost in a way that communicates a genuine concern for their story. #BeTheEdge
