“The Lord detests the thoughts of the wicked, but gracious words are pure in his sight.”
Hang on for this one. God hears our thoughts. No shock there? How about this one. He hears our thoughts before we think them. Ponder that for a moment and I believe it will grab your deepest imagination. He hears our thoughts before we form them better than we hear spoken words. Long before a harsh or hurtful word is formed He is disgusted by it. He did not create us to think or speak those words let alone think those thoughts. Not about His created children. He is aware of how they will wound and cause potential harm. Conversely, He knows better than anyone the healing blessing of kind, gracious words. Jesus could heal with a spoken word. He created everything with a thought. He thought it and it sprang into existence. Our words harm or heal as well. My sweet granddaughter is gifted at math. One day a substitute teacher saw her struggling with a new math concept she had not been taught yet and told her, “ Don’t worry honey, I was not very good at math either.” She cried because she wanted to be good at it. It took a while for her to regain confidence in her math skills. Words and thoughts are powerful. Today speak with grace and kindness. #BeTheEdge
