Proverbs 15:3 NIV

“The eyes of the Lord are everywhere, keeping watch on the wicked and the good.”

One of the commentaries I was reading in preparing to share this morning put it this way, “this verse speaks comfort to saints, and terror to sinners”. That’s a pretty good description and pretty clear delineation between how this impacts those who recognize God’s presence and those who don’t. By the way, this verse is true whether someone wants to believe in the omnipresence of God or not.  Solomon is completing the thought he began in chapter 1 verse 7 showing the fear or reverence for God that comes from realizing not only His strength and power but the extent of His presence in all our lives. This Truth helps His followers see much of scriptures promises dealing with God in the midst of every aspect of their journey. He is always present, aware and active. As His children we find great comfort and encouragement as we walk in His will. Conversely those walking outside His plans will ultimately try to convince themselves He doesn’t exist. We can be tempted to see that as an attempt at an intelligent response to a God they cannot see. In reality most of those people are trying to convince themselves that they are not living in full view of the God who created them, loves them and longs for a relationship with them. There is, as there ought to be, too much pain in living a life of rebellion to Him, knowing He is there. So they live trying to believe the lie. Often that lie gets too heavy to bear and they turn to the ever present God. Today live boldly and bravely in the reality of God’s constant presence in your story. #BeTheEdge
