Proverbs 15:30 NIV

“Light in a messenger’s eyes brings joy to the heart, and good news gives health to the bones.”

I’m kind of ambivalent about Starbucks. I know it’s an addiction for some folks, but as a non-coffee drinker, I can count on one hand how many times I’ve been to one. I would have loved to have been there a few months ago during a special promotion. If you came in dancing, they would give you a free drink. When I watched the videos of the event, it was one of the most pure, joyful activities I’ve seen in a long time. Solomon is telling us of a similar experience. The idea of someone showing up with bright eyes and uplifting news makes me smile. Who doesn’t love to receive good news? As Christ followers, that should be who we are. The Gospel literally means the “good news.” When we enter a place, we don’t necessarily need to be dancing, but the effect should be similar. We should have something joyful and engaging in our eyes and demeanor. Our message brings joy to people’s hearts and healing to their souls. Jesus brought physical health almost everywhere He traveled. More significantly, He brought healing to the broken and sad places of anyone who would hear and receive the source of our joy. Today, be a bearer of the Good News—dancing optional. #BeTheEdge

“You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and hills will burst into song before you, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands.” Isaiah‬ ‭55‬:‭12‬ ‭NIV‬‬
