“Prudence is a fountain of life to the prudent, but folly brings punishment to fools.”

An interesting element of the truth in this verse is that the friends and acquaintances of the prudent also benefit from their wise living. That can be seen in life. A boss or parent that lives a prudent life has a positive influence on their family or employees. Living as well as leading foolishly has bad consequences on everyone within the shadow of that person. The word for prudence used in this verse is often translated judgment or understanding. It reflects the wisdom of the person and we know how much Solomon focuses on us living life according to God’s wisdom. There is also a strong relationship between this verse and being very careful with our words, being judicious in speech. Our actions certainly reflect our love for God and if we are living by His wisdom but, our words reflect Him through prudent speech. Prudent or imprudent speech are both powerful and reflect our heart. It is a shining light on our life. Today live a prudent life that reflects you Heavenly Father. #BeTheEdge

“In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” Jesus
