Proverbs 16:7 NIV

“When the Lord takes pleasure in anyone’s way, he causes their enemies to make peace with them.”

There is a false dichotomy that would tell us that living for God will make the world abuse us or by not living for God the world is nice to us. There are occasions where those concepts may be true but what Solomon tells us here and what has more often been experienced by God’s followers throughout the centuries is that as we walk in God’s will and He blesses our lives the watching world will certainly respond. Most often they desire to have some of what God is doing in our lives rub off on them. We see this when King Abimelech favored Issac as he watched God’s favor on him. I watch it these days as God blesses the businesses of leaders who follow Him. Very secularly minded business people want a part of their successes. They are not even sure exactly why those leaders succeed but they know they want a piece of it for their own. That desire is not bad or wrong. To the lost it’s just practical. This is not always represented by a financial blessing. It can be seen in peace, joy and influence in their lives. Who doesn’t want to be around success or blessing? We see it with sports programs all the time. Nothing brings more financial support, attendance and new facilities to an athletic program than a few winning seasons. Today allow God to bless those around you as you walk and cast light faithfully with Him. #BeTheEdge

“In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” Jesus
