“A discerning person keeps wisdom in view, but a fool’s eyes wander to the ends of the earth.”
I love the visual of keeping wisdom in view. Like most people, I enjoy a beautiful mountain lake at sunrise and a beach at sunset. These and many other visual sights come instantly to mind when I consider what it means to look at wisdom. The wisdom Solomon refers to is God’s wisdom. For me, all the beauty in this world is a reflection of the amazing, creative Author of the universe—Jesus. The Bible tells us that everything was created by Him. Therefore, the things we witness—the birth of a child, the delicate snowflake drifting down—were all created by Jesus and reflect Him. Keeping wisdom in view is truly about having God’s truth squarely in sight as we live and walk through the gift of each day. But it’s even bigger than that. When we understand that the universe is a reflection of its Creator, we can begin to see the Creator Himself when we truly appreciate His gifts to us. Since we know that every good and perfect gift comes from above, we can see reflections of Him in a haunting guitar riff, a beautiful voice singing, or the grace of a gymnast or ballerina. All good things are gifts from the all-wise God, and they point us to Him—if we look. Today, look.#BeTheEdge
