“Ears that hear and eyes that see— the Lord has made them both.”
There is nothing about nature that does not find its creation and source in the creator of the universe. He not only designed all of the elements of the most beautiful sunrise and the stunning night sky but also the most practical and necessary parts of our daily existence. Of course the one who “knit us together in our mothers womb” also created each part that is included in that individual. “God is the God of nature, and all the powers and faculties of nature are derived from him and depend upon him, and therefore are to be employed for him.” (Henry) When I have the amazing privilege of introducing someone to that creator God one of the first things I encourage them to do is to memorize the first 5 words of His word. Genesis 1:1 begins with the powerful, foundational truth of everything, “In the beginning God created…”. Everything else flows out of that truth. “God is the God of grace. It is he that gives the ear that hears God’s voice, the eye that sees his beauty, for it is he that opens the understanding.” (Henry) All five senses are a gift from the Creator. Our gift to Him is using them to enjoy, appreciate, share and recognize Him in all of His creation. Today live reflecting on all His power and beauty revealed through the gifts He has provided for our access to Him. #BeTheEdge
