I’m a sucker for movies and shows where someone is ripped off and can’t do anything about it when suddenly a hero steps in and rectifies what was done to them. Well that’s actually most dramas and super hero stories. The greatest of those stories is about a guy who has his life captured and his soul forfeited by his own decision to walk arrogantly away from the person who loved him most. In this story the one who loved him sent His Son to pay a ransom to get him back. You know the story. Anyway, God despises a cheat. Satan continues to try and cheat us out of everything God redeemed us for. One of Satan’s top goals is to try to rip us off from God’s best. Another is to convince us to do that to others. It may be a shady business deal designed to take advantage of someone else. It may be through poor, selfish parenting or behavior in marriage. Anything we do that causes another to get less than God’s best is a sin and detestable to our heavenly Father. This is a straight forward verse about rigging the scales or the process in a business deal. The principle carries into every area of life. We are to be excelled in all of our dealings with others, above reproach. That is how God is and our responsibility is to reflect Him in everything. It is not only for the other persons benefit, it allows us to live with our heads up and our eyes clear. Today be more than fair. #BeTheEdge
