“A person’s steps are directed by the Lord. How then can anyone understand their own way?”
I start the day praying for a couple people and certain things. One of them is turning my day over to God. I use a line from a Toby Mac song, “Jesus come steal my show.” I give Him permission to alter and interrupt my day however He would like to. It makes it very exciting and interesting. That prayer is the result of growing in an understanding of this verse and the passage in Ephesians 2 that tells us we are God’s handiwork and that He has created us to walk into the good works He has already prepared for us to walk into each day. Imagine that. We walk in intimacy and obedience to God and waiting for us are all the conditions, circumstances and positioning of other journeys so that at just the right moment they all come together. When we arrive, at that very time, place and situation, we represent the Kingdom of our Father. WOW! Isn’t that amazing? And it’s not like we live our life hoping that happens sometime. It is every moment of every day. Sometimes it is a smile, a kind word or a friendly gesture that has that effect. Other times it’s a major step of faith or obedience. Whatever it is it is us being the answer to Jesus prayer for God’s Kingdom to come on earth as it is in heaven. Want an important task today? There it is.
