Proverbs 20:7

“The righteous lead blameless lives; blessed are their children after them.”

It’s easy to blame yourself if one of your kids falls away from your example and teaching about living for Jesus. A verse like this can hit hard on parents with grown children living the ‘prodigal life”. However, this verse tells us that they have access to a blessed life because of the life lived by their parents who strive to live rightly with God. Whether they know it or not life is and has been far better for them because of godly parents. I once had a friend tell me that her son told her that their faith was not a result of her or her husbands example. It was strictly because of God. Initially that made me mad. However she responded that their son was correct. She said apart from God in their lives their children would not have had the clear neon sign pointing toward Him. Great perspective. And very true. None the less it can be a considerably more difficult and confusing journey to the point of faith in Jesus without the roadmap being highlighted by God loving and serving parents. And, just to relieve a little pressure, blameless is more clearly translated man who walks in integrity, one who is God fearing and who lives honestly. Thankfully for our sake as well as our children and employees perfection is not a prerequisite to bless those in our journey. Today live that life of God honoring loyalty and allow those you encounter to be blessed for it. #BeTheEdge
