Proverbs 21:2 NIV

“A person may think their own ways are right, but the Lord weighs the heart.”

I watched my 3 and 4 year old grand kids disagree the other day. They were both certain they were right and therefore not interested in yielding to the other. A favorite concept in those disagreements can be summed up in their one word justification: “mine!” I watched two adults argue and grow red faced the other day. Both “knew” they were in the right. At the end of the children’s argument the 4 year old suggested they take turns. Peace and joy returned to their little world. At least at that moment. In the adult version of this story they were led away from each other and still have a grinding anger toward the other person in the pit of their soul. “People are prone to rationalize sin, to self-justify, and to fail to see the reality of their sin before God.  There is a way that seems right to a man, but, because it is sinful, it leads to death.” (RBT) We are all born broken and deceived. It takes a rebirth in Jesus and gaining the eternal, Godly perspective to truly know the right way. Until then we are all subject to selfish, broken perspectives. Often you will discover that whatever “it” is, that “it” doesn’t really matter. Today reserve judgment on an issue until you are sure you have the Father’s view. #BeTheEdge

“You, then, why do you judge your brother or sister? Or why do you treat them with contempt? For we will all stand before God’s judgment seat.” Romans‬ ‭14:10‬ ‭NIV‬‬
