Proverbs 22:1 NIV

“A good name is more desirable than great riches; to be esteemed is better than silver or gold.”

Can I be honest? I have spent time with many people who would disagree with that statement.  Sure, they would love to have a good name, even be held in high esteem but they would certainly trade that for riches. It is interesting to see many of them age and come to the realization of what Solomon is saying in this verse. Hey, riches aren’t bad it’s just that riches without integrity, which is the foundation of a good reputation, are a cold lonely thing. A person with a good name is welcome, gladly, in most settings. You see to get a good name is not about how you speak or preach your faith it is about how you live it. Often speaking into situations is a cheap substitute for being a living example. Today pursue the righteous nature of God, work hard and the riches will take of themselves, #BeTheEdge

“But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” Jesus
