“So that your trust may be in the LORD, I have taught you today, even you.” Proverbs 22:19 NASB

I have two reminders that come up on my calendar app every day. The first is a reminder from 717pray.com(part of The Edge ministry) to take 30 seconds and pray for my grandchildren and one of The Edge companies at 7:17am every day. I highly recommend this discipline. The second, as important as the daily prayer reminder, and I believe even more important, is “ask God for guidance.” It might be hard to believe that being in full-time ministry I would need that reminder. Over the years, I have learned that ministries and businesses develop strategies, programs, systems, and tools that, over time, we can come to trust to the point that the Holy Spirit can seem unnecessary, or worse, intrusive. Go to church but watch and see where or even if the Holy Spirit could possibly interrupt the flow of the service without risking someone’s job. In the same way, there are many demanding tasks in both my ministry position and other responsibilities that can drive my day from early to late without taking time to consult my Savior. Thankfully my ADD nature and diverse responsibilities make me not only comfortable with interruptions but actually looking forward to them. God wants to interrupt your routines at times. Can He? Remember – for God so loved the world that He didn’t send a program, structure, or strategic plan. Today, live your organized story but allow the Author to inject some plot twists as He sees fit. #BeTheEdge
