Influencing culture for the Kingdom

Proverbs 22:3 NASB

“The prudent sees the evil and hides himself, But the naive go on, and are punished for it.” Proverbs 22:3 NASB

Today, I watched our 18-month-old grandson (Harris) attempt to run away from his mother. As she caught him by the arm he started yelling, “Go! Go! Go!” As usual I just watched the activity, which is the privilege of grand parenting vs. parenting. She glanced over her shoulder and told me that he thinks go means stop. Always some great entertainment waiting to be had. Unlike a toddler with great attentive parents, we, as adults, need to be smart enough to know when to go or stop based on the moral compass God has placed in each of us. Coupled with the voice of the third person of the Trinity (Holy Spirit), that will direct us clearly about our choice between right and wrong, safe and dangerous, good and evil. What we do with those choices will determine our consequences: peace or punishment. I don’t know about you, but after 45 years of walking with Jesus, I’m close to learning that it is always the better part of judgement to walk (or better yet run) away from evil, and change and embrace God’s good. Today, choose wisely, live, and prosper. #BeTheEdge
