“There is surely a future hope for you, and your hope will not be cut off.”
If you do nothing else today be sure you take a few minutes and meditate on this verse. If there was ever a message needed by our world today this is it. Sadly, a recent article announced that these were the most common statements made by half of todays teenagers: “I do not enjoy life. My life is not useful.” The share of teens who agree with these phrases is now at 50% and has doubled over the past decade, according to an annual poll conducted by the University of Michigan. Teen suicide has grown just under 30% in the last decade. That’s kids who look at their future and believe that it’s not worth staying around for. By contrast God’s followers have hope and hope may be the most powerful force in the world today. Hope that our struggle will one day end. Hope that our efforts are ordained or redeemed by a sovereign God. Hope that we will one day rise to spend eternity in heaven with our savior. Hope that nothing can cut us off from the source of our hope – God. Today walk hopeful. #BeTheEdge
