Proverbs 23:19 NASB

“Listen, my son, and be wise, and direct your heart in the way.” Proverbs 23:19 NASB

I recently started reading the book “Quiet Influence,” subtitled, “The Introvert’s Guide to Making a Difference,” by Jennifer Kahnweiler.  I’m an introvert according to the Myers Briggs Type Indicator, so I was intrigued enough by the title to dig in. In her book, Kahnweiler makes a strong case for the quiet, listening, and contemplative introverted leader. They know the value of listening well. Often, they are mistaken for slower or less intelligent than the louder, more boisterous extroverted leader. In making that mistake many businesses, churches, and non-profits have missed out by not hearing the rich insights and wisdom of the introvert. We need to value listening and learn from those gifted at it. Today more than ever, learning to really listen, hear, and understand is vital in business, family, and for survival. The book encourages its reader to “… tap into your own heart, your own strengths, and answer your own unique way of making a quietly powerful difference.” Above all else, listen to God. Today, remember to listen to hear and not just to respond. Then the power of the response will flow. #BeTheEdge
