“My son, give me your heart and let your eyes delight in my ways,”
God is the ultimate gentleman. Satan is the exact opposite. If you want your sons to know how to treat people have them look at God or as Jesus tells us we can watch Him to see His Father. Want your daughters to see the perfect representation of a gentleman? Have them watch Him as well. In this verse we see an invitation not a demand. God invites, Satan demands. I’m always amazed by Gods willingness to allow us to make poor, eternity jeopardizing choices. Not looking for a Calvinist argument here. I think we can all agree that God invites us into relationship and obedience. We choose sin, sacrifice or obedience. We also see in this verse the result of accepting His invitation, the opportunity to delight in Him. God is certainly sovereign. There are times when He imposes His plan on the planet, including us. For example, we had nothing to do with the size, shape or place in creation of all the plants and animals in the universe. Some would like to credit satan with the mosquito. But, God created them all. Conversely, God will allow you to give Him your heart or keep it for yourself. Today give Him your heart and delight in His plan. #BeTheEdge
