“The wise prevail through great power, and those who have knowledge muster their strength.”
“We cannot help conforming ourselves to what we love.” (Francis de Sales) I have to admit that the warrior in me loves this verse. Strong words. Prevail, great power, muster their strength are all terms that embolden the warrior in me. When Solomon, who grew up in a great warriors family, refers to those who have knowledge in this instance he is referring specifically to those whose knowledge is of God. In other places he definitely talks of knowledge of other areas and realms of life but not here. Here he lets us know that kingdom warriors find their source of wisdom and knowledge in knowing The King, God, intimately and in a way that only comes from regular interaction with, and study of, Him and His character. Paul wrote that God is in the business of confirming us into the image of Jesus. How can we know that is happening unless we are getting to know Jesus in a way that cuts through all the misrepresentations in our journey. Our cultural history, background and societal influences can distort who we understand Gods is. Only by peering into the face of the almighty Himself can we move through those things to see Him clearly. That is where the power comes from. Resurrection power, as Paul puts it, the power at work in us that raised Jesus from the grave. Today look at God for the transformation we desire. #BeTheEdge
