“It is the glory of God to conceal a matter, but the glory of kings is to search out a matter.” Proverbs 25:2 NASB
I have encountered many people over the years who would tell me the reason they didn’t believe there was a God boils down to a long list of questions they could not answer. In response I would say that some of those same questions are the very things that put me in awe and wonder of the depth and breadth of the God I love. I explain that I ask some of the same questions they do but I find it encouraging rather than dispiriting. When others ask from outside a relationship with Him, they enter defensive and, at times, angry and accusatory. When I ask from within my relationship with God, the questions come from a place of knowing that God has the answers and that He will reveal depths of Himself I never even began to know existed. Paul refers to the depth of God’s mercy and love, and also the riches of His kindness, grace, and patience. We can, and actually will, spend eternity discovering those characteristics of God. Our questions do not scare God. He longs to reveal Himself to all of us. He went so far as to reveal Himself through the gift of his Son. Jesus says that when we see Him, we see His Father. Today, find comfort in the unsearchable nature of God, and find joy in the pursuit of knowing Him with all your heart. #BeTheEdge
