“Take away the dross from the silver, and there comes out a vessel for the smith;” Proverbs 25:4 NASB
The Edge ministry is into its second 18 months of operation and we just spent a week with a ministry and organizational specialist. As a result, we have looked over our first 18 months to inform our strategy for the next 18 months and beyond. One of the concepts that keeps emerging as a distinctive of this ministry is alignment. We are not particularly interested with how smoothly your car drives; we leave that to Harold at Auburn Tire. However, we are driven by the spiritual reality of alignment in one’s life. Alignment means “a position of agreement or alliance.” You see, God created us with very a specific purpose. The sin and broken places in our life draw us away from that purpose. God is very committed to walking us back into alignment with His calling in our story. Solomon refers to that process in this verse. Alignment equals dross removal. Once the dross, imperfections, pollutants and trash are removed from our life, what we are left with is the image of our Creator. We are then useful for His mission/our calling. Today, join God in the removal process and look for alignment with Him in your journey #BeTheEdge
