Proverbs 25:4 NIV

“Remove the dross from the silver, and a silversmith can produce a vessel;”

What comes to mind when you think about Blockbusters, Kodak, Toys R’ Us, Polaroid, Pan Am, Borders and Pets(Dot)Com? If you are the average person it’s probably,”Where did they go?” If you’ve been to business school in the past decade it’s probably thoughts of companies that got caught unprepared for innovation and changes in the world around their business model. “Change is hard, staying the same is impossible”. In life we are either moving forward or backward. In business as needs, technology, resources and a plethora of other things change, our model and at times even our product must change with it or it will shrink until it’s gone. In life we face the same challenges. One difference in life is not only that we adapt to live in a world that continually finds new ways to confront our faith we also discover issues in our heart that need to be removed to conform us to God’s eternal design for us, the image of His Son. Solomon calls it dross. As gold melts the impurities rise to the surface and are more easily removed to create a more pure product. As the pressures and challenges of life intensify in our journey the impurities in our spirit similarly rise to the surface where we more willing allow God’s Spirit to remove them and create the more reflective image of His Son. You see we too must change or die. All sin, revealed sin especially, kills. There is no staying the same. Today allow God’s presence to remove those things that would keep you from becoming who He created you to be. #BeTheEdge

“For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son…” Romans 8:29a NIV
