Proverbs 2:6 NASB

By September 2, 2020No Comments

“For the LORD gives wisdom; From His mouth come knowledge and understanding.” Proverbs 2:6 NASB

The rock band, Cage the Elephant, have a song “Cigarette Daydreams” in which the chorus goes:

“You can drive all night

Looking for the answers in the pouring rain

You wanna find peace of mind

Looking for the answer

If we can find a reason, a reason to change

Looking for the answer

If you can find a reason, a reason to stay

Standing in the pouring rain.”

I see many people living this way. In this current storm of events in 2020 (that I don’t need to list) the question I continue to hear is basically, “What the heck is going on?” Granted, there are a lot of corporate challenges, and I speak daily to business leaders and friends who are struggling with overwhelming personal issues. I don’t know the answer to that question in most cases. However, as a young believer back in… we’ll just say a while ago, I had embedded in my brain the lyrics to two Andre Crouch songs. One said: “Jesus is the answer for the world today. Above Him there’s no other, Jesus is The Way.”

The other went like this: “Through it all… I’ve learned to trust in Jesus, I’ve learned to trust in God… I’ve learned to depend upon His Word.”

Today, choose the hope and power of Andre over the confusion of the Elephants. #BeTheEdge

“Then the LORD answered Job out of the storm and said, “Now gird up your loins like a man…” Job 40:6-7a NASB
