Proverbs 27:17 NASB

“Iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.” Proverbs 27:17 NASB

Over the years, I have found this verse driving a lot of my journey. Before “The Edge” existed, this passage was the focus of where a small group of us knew the ministry would find its purpose. The name, “The Edge,” came straight out of this passage. Legally, the ministry is actually named “Be the Edge.” Solomon declares God’s intention for each of us in relation to others. The alternative is more than implied. Solomon returns to this truth in Ecclesiastes when he warns: “If the axe is dull and he does not sharpen its edge, then he must exert more strength.” (Ecclesiastes 10:10a NASB) There is life saving energy in investing in the practice of helping one another to be better people. These days, however, there is a disturbing pattern of people tearing one another down or at the very least ignoring another’s hurt and pain. Today, look for ways to help those around you grow and strengthen. #BeTheEdge

“And let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds.” Hebrews 10:24 (NASB)
