“The wicked flee though no one pursues, but the righteous are as bold as a lion.”
I know I wrote about this last month. I also know there are 27 other powerful verses in this chapter. It’s just that the powerful yet clear and simple truth of these 16 words is captivating, at least to me. Guilt is a powerful emotion. My grammar app offers suggestions for what word I should use next when I type these devotions each day. I seldom notice them because I’m typing my thoughts so fast that I don’t usually look up. Hence all the grammatical and spelling errors. After the word “powerful” when describing guilt, AI suggested the next word be “gift.” That caused me to pause. Although guilt is not a gift and is actually a tool of Satan to create a sense of condemnation that never comes from God, the word “conviction” is absolutely appropriate for the gift it is. Where Satan condemns, the Spirit of God convicts. The wicked flee because they are guilty of a life of rebellion against their Creator. The righteous experience conviction and respond with repentance, being restored to a right standing with their Heavenly Father. Today, walk in faith, and when convicted, repent and grow. #BeTheEdge
