“Like a roaring lion or a charging bear is a wicked ruler over a helpless people.”
Two nights ago a lion escaped from a wildlife adventure park just up the road. Social media lit up with people sure they would be eaten alive. They found him, returned him and we all escaped a potentially horrific death at the paws of a wild beast. Scripture also tells us that it is Satan who roams around like a roaring lion seeking someone to devour. A lion in and of itself is not always a bad comparison. Jesus is the lion of Judah. It is the lion in this Proverb with evil and destructive intent that we are warned about. Likewise a charging bear has been described as the most dangerous and fearsome animal we can face. As I look at what is occurring in our country these days I can almost imagine that satanic lion pursuing our children and grandchildren. There is a leadership issue throughout our institutions. At some point many of the leaders in those various arenas chose to walk away from the truths of their creator and allow other things to become their God or maybe they become their own God. As a result their moral and spiritual compass went haywire. Sadly they don’t seem to know it. As a further result there is a growing trail of innocent and confused victims. The helpless and weak need protectors who are led by the Spirit of the one and only Living God, the ultimate protector, the Lion of Judah. Today represent Him well. #BeTheEdge
