“The one whose walk is blameless is kept safe, but the one whose ways are perverse will fall into the pit.”
Can I have another choice? I mean seriously, blameless or perverse. Surely there is something on the side closer to blameless but doesn’t require that degree of perfection. There are certainly days I feel as though I’m more on the perverse side of the scales. Ready for the good news? Left on our own we all stand headed for the pit. However, as Paul so emphatically declared “thanks be to God who delivers me through Jesus.” As followers of Christ we are covered in His righteousness and as we walk faithfully in His calling on our life we are blameless. Those not yet followers of God are the willfully perverse and their journey is not a promising one. The reality is that those without God are perverse on their best day and headed to a disastrous end. Those in Christ are, on their worst day, headed to eternal life. That being said our here and now is daily determined by a life of obedience or disobedience to our creator. The choice to live in His protection is a daily, moment by moment, decision by decision choice. The key is to be so controlled by His Spirit and truth that our natural instinct is to no longer walk according to this broken world but to walk in His light and truth. Today allow God to guide your steps and be safe. #BeTheEdge
