“Those who trust in themselves are fools, but those who walk in wisdom are kept safe.”
This has nothing to do with geography. It let’s us know that those who walk in the safest neighborhoods can be in more danger than those who walk the most dangerous streets. It is also about who sends you and who travels with you. At lunch yesterday I listened as Jeff Struecker shared his story that was portrayed in the movie Blackawk Down. As we listened he shared that he was sure he was going to die on the streets of Mogadishu Somolia. So was everybody else with him. As the story unfold it became very apparent that his survival, as a hail of bullets riddled their vehicles, was a supernatural experience. Wherever we are in our life, as long as we are in the center of God’s will, we are safe. When we remove the covering of His protection we are at risk. We are immortal until the very instant God has set for us to leave this world for the next. Jeff was the top Army Ranger. He shared that Rangers were the elite of the elite and trusted in their strength and knowledge to protect them. In Mogadishu he watched them come to the end of themselves as they realized they were going to die and there was nothing they could do about it. His men saw how he walked into the battle at peace. Later they came to him to find out how he could do that. He shared his confidence that his life and future were securely in the hands of God. Today rest in the reality that God holds your today and tomorrow safely into eternity. #BeTheEdge
