Proverbs 31:1 NIV

“The sayings of King Lemuel—an inspired utterance his mother taught him.”

Mothers. We all had to have had one. Most of us are who we are because of their influence to some degree for better or worse. King Lemuel obviously had a good one or at least one who taught him good stuff. It is often easy to sort through the humanity of our parents and find fault. No parent was ever perfect. Remember that time 12 year old Jesus rebuked His parents? It can be a challenge to be a parent watching our little ones mature, make mistakes and grow. Just ask your Heavenly Father. The point here is that we all have the opportunity to influence the upcoming generation. As a matter of fact you don’t have to have children to do it. Much of the wise counsel I received came from people in my journey who were not family, although in a lot of ways they truly were. Words shared at times of need or important decisions have shaped who I am and become a part of the counsel I now offer. How about you? Was it your mom? Maybe your dad or a grandparent. Whoever it was, like King Lemuel, you now have a great responsibility to pass it on. Today share freely of what God has given you. #BeTheEdge

“I am reminded of your sincere faith, which first lived in your grandmother Lois and in your mother Eunice and, I am persuaded, now lives in you also.” 2 Timothy‬ ‭1:5‬ ‭NIV‬‬
