“for they are life to those who find them and health to one’s whole body.”
Yesterday’s verse challenged us with how God’s wisdom would have a powerful impact on the world we live in as we walked faithfully in it. It was essentially how the world was greatly impacted as God’s followers lived by His truth and understanding. This verse lets us know of its supreme value in our lives as well. He is letting us know it is the most powerful and essential thing we will ever acquire. The energy expended in life chasing wealth, power, influence, achievement in many areas is amazing to behold. None of it necessarily wrong or a waste. At least as long as they are pursued in the proper way and order. If we pursue God and His wisdom first then He directs and aligns these other priorities in our journey. I do suspect some of them will lose importance or leave our agenda all together but it is no one’s place other than God’s Spirit to decide that. Jesus Himself actually makes this point in Matthew. Interestingly Jesus doesn’t say seek God’s kingdom first and all these other things will go away. He says seek the kingdom first and all these things will be added to your story. Today let’s get the order straight and watch Him work. #BeTheEdge
