Solomon, for all his incredibly poor choices in the sexual realm and with hundreds of women that had been strictly forbidden by God, sure does talk a lot about the consequences of living the sensual lifestyles. Perhaps it is because of seeing the results first hand that he spends much of his writings warning about this battle. Here we see that young men who succumb to the sin of adultery lose what they have earnestly worked for. Their “toils, the product of laborious toil, that which you have gotten by the labour of your hands, and earned with the sweat of your brow” end up in the hand of another. Not only that but they are the hands of people who don’t know you or care about you, strangers. Solomon wants us to understand that the consequences of sexual sin cost us everything including friends and family. Even though infidelity is usually seen as the 3rd reason for divorces most of the other reasons are a result of or a cause for the unfaithfulness. Our society is ravaged by the consequences of sex not being practiced in the way God designed. The couple in a committed, monogamous marriage relationship is becoming the exception rather than the rule and we are seeing the devastation that behavior is having on families, communities and our nation. Today operate within God’s parameters sexually and in all other areas of behavior. #BeTheEdge
