Proverbs 7:27 NASB

“Her house is the way to Sheol, descending to the chambers of death.” Proverbs 7:27 NASB

Scripture tells us that Satan has three goals: “to steal, kill and destroy.” He has three lies that he counts on to accomplish his goals. One of his favorites is that there is no hell. If he can convince someone that there is no hell, then he is able to blunt the horrifying reality of eternity apart from our Creator. The power of sin is emboldened as its victim doesn’t consider the end result of their choices. We are given a clear view when Morgan tells us in his commentary that, “In the hour of sin’s glamor it is good for the soul to look through to the end which is in Sheol and the chambers of death. When the voice of the siren is heard, it is good to pause and listen to the moan of the breakers on the shore of darkness and death, for to that shore the way of impurity assuredly leads.” The power of temptation lies in concealing its end results; a wise person considers the results. God has given His children His word and His Spirit to guide us and remind us. Knowing the ultimate destination of our choices is powerful. As the poet Robert Frost said, “Two roads diverged,” and, as Scripture says (paraphrased), the road to heaven is narrow and few are they who choose it. Today, consider the costs and follow the way of Life. #BeTheEdge

“But the gateway to life is very narrow and the road is difficult, and only a few ever find it.” Matthew 7:14 NLT
