Proverbs 7:5 NASB

“So that they may keep you from an adulteress, from the foreigner who flatters with her words.” Proverbs 7:5 NASB

Sun Tzu in The Art of War said, “Hence the saying: If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.” One of the great gifts God offers through His word is the ability to not only know Him but to know our enemy, as well. God does not leave us to guess how Satan will seek to attack and undermine our relationship with Him. He teaches us clearly throughout His word. “From God’s word we learn the deception and strategy of sin and temptation. We learn the end result of sin and the wonderful benefits of obedience. God’s word imparts the spiritual light and strength we need to obey God in this difficult area.” (Enduring Word) Because God makes clear who He is and who the enemy is we are without excuse for not living righteously. We can claim we did not know, and that may be true. But we stand guilty not because we did not know but because we could know and chose not to. God revealed all the truth we need to walk the life He created for us to. However, it is incumbent upon us to take the time and give the effort to learn of God and the one whose ultimate goal is to steal, kill, and destroy us. Today, dive into God’s truth and know yourself and the enemy. #BeTheEdge
