“for wisdom is more precious than rubies, and nothing you desire can compare with her.”
What is it you desire? Do your desires ever make you feel guilty? I just read Deuteronomy eights description of the land that God was leading the Israelites into. That’s what I desire. It actually made me take a deep breath and relax. Solomon is not telling us it is wrong to desire things. He is just making it clear that none of them is more important or valuable than God’s wisdom. Unless they are sinful desires God actually tells us how to have them fulfilled. When we learn to find our hearts desires filled by Him we set Him free to fulfill other desires we have. When we live by and operate in God’s wisdom everything else either shines less than it once did or it becomes even more desirable as it aligns more closely with His plans for our story. It’s the kid who wants to be the greatest soccer player in the U.S. for fame and the same young man who meets God and now wants the platform to bring honor to God. That’s a true story by the way. Today seek God’s wisdom and let Him take charge of your hearts desires. #BeTheEdge
