“I love those who love me, and those who seek me find me.”
For Christmas, one of my grandchildren received a monthly mailer that gives her clues to a mystery to be solved. I called her the other day, and she told me she couldn’t talk at that moment because she was in the middle of following clues to solve the mystery. Solomon understands that kind of adventure. I find this to be an incredibly uplifting and encouraging verse—maybe even a little exciting. Think about the promises here: Love Him and be loved by Him. How great is that? And with a bit of a spirit of mystery and adventure, when we seek Him, search for Him everywhere and in all things, we will find Him. Promised love and discovery. They are not hard to achieve, but they take focused effort. Loving God is a fully engaged activity. We are told to love Him with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength—our whole being. That’s a tall order. However, the reward is the fullness of His love, the God of the universe. As we search for Him, He makes Himself known. He wants us to know Him even more than we want to know Him. He’s not hiding; He is everywhere we look, and even in those places we don’t. He is the omnipresent God. Today, love God, enjoy His love, and embrace the mystery. #BeTheEdge
