“Leave [behind] your foolishness [and the foolish] and live, And walk in the way of insight and understanding.””
I’ve never watched The Walking Dead. I might actually like it but I’m a little over Zombies, kind of like Vampires. However when I ran across this mental condition I was reminded of this verse as well as the one from Eph. 5. “Cotard delusion is a rare condition marked by the false belief that you or your body parts are dead, dying, or don’t exist. It usually occurs with severe depression and some psychotic disorders. It can accompany other mental illnesses and neurological conditions. You might also hear it referred to as walking corpse syndrome, Cotard’s syndrome, or nihilistic delusion.” That’s amazing. Theres the Walking Dead comparison. I’m often stunned by how many people live this same way spiritually. They want to believe there is no real life available to them. Solomon and Paul tell us that we must awake and rise from the dead. They are not talking about at the resurrection. The reality of scripture tells us that when we come to faith in Christ we receive a new life, literally born again. The spiritually dead live foolishly. Without Christ they really don’t have a choice. The spiritually alive live a life of value and purpose. Jesus even declared He came to give us an abundant life, life overflowing. Today live life fully. #BeTheEdge
“It’s a scandal when people waste their lives on things they must do in the darkness where no one will see. Rip the cover off those frauds and see how attractive they look in the light of Christ. Wake up from your sleep, Climb out of your coffins; Christ will show you the light!” Ephesians 5:11-15MSG
