In another translation, this verse says He does not let the righteous ‘soul’ go hungry. I really appreciate that translation. I see a lot of people with everything they could want or need yet they are hungering for something they cannot name. They try to fill that place of hunger in their soul, but nothing seems to do it. If it does it is temporary and the sense of satisfaction doesn’t last. Here is a truth: our bodies can be fine, yet our souls be starving and dying. Conversely, our bodies can be wasting away while our souls flourish. It is a truth of eternity. Our bodies are nothing more than ‘earth suits.’ God designed them to house our soul and spirit while we exist on this earth. Take it a mile off the planet without something to protect it and it dies. That is why God focuses on the health and well-being of our spirit. That is the part that lives forever. Ultimately, eternal life, which begins at the moment we give our lives to God and He breathes life into our dead spirit, satisfies our hunger. Today, let God fill your cravings with His gifts. #BeTheEdge
