Proverbs 27:1 NASB

I sat to study Proverbs 27 in preparation for writing this morning’s devotion. Before I read, I always ask God to show me the verse He wants me to share and reveal what He wants me to say. I could not get past this verse. If you, like me, have ever had your world totally rocked by unexpected bad or good news that altered the entire direction of your future, this verse should hold a clear truth for you. Today as a planet, we are learning the powerful truth of this verse both individually and corporately. This verse is not about being shocked, surprised or even dismayed by an unexpected turn of events. It is just about confident humility. We walk in humble dependence on our omniscient, all-powerful, all-loving creator God. When a surprise, a death, a pandemic or anything else world-shattering explodes onto the scene, we must quickly adjust to the fact that our Father is not surprised or rendered powerless against the challenge. He knew it was coming and none of His promises are nullified by the threat. His disciples, though warned, did not see a crucifixion coming. They didn’t expect a resurrection, either. Today, boldly face the challenges before you with confidence – not in yourself, but in Him. #BeTheEdge

“…and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand.” Jesus of Nazareth (Jn 10:28-29)
