The Kendrick brothers released a movie titled “Show Me The Father”. It’s a fascinating look at five men and their reflections on their fathers. It is presented in a way that gives the viewer a look at the Fatherhood of God through these human relationships. The reason that the eternal creator of the universe can be seen in the lives of very falliable human dads is because God designed the family to reflect His role as our Father. In that vein it is easy to understand very vividly what Solomon is talking about when telling us how a parent feels when their kids bring them joy. In the same way we have certainly seen the pain a foolish kid causes their parents. As I think of the incredible joy my children have blessed me with over the past decades I realize that it was never about something they gave me or did for me. It was always in watching them live well the life God gave them to honor Him. Sadness has come in those rare occasions when the opposite was true. Our heavenly Father experiences the same emotions, yes scripture tells us He feels emotions, that we earthly fathers do when His children live for Him. Today imagine the high honor of bringing joy to the God of the Universe and do it. #BeTheEdge
