“The lips of the righteous nourish many, but fools die for lack of sense.”
I have been in the company of both people described in this verse in my lifetime. You probable have as well. One is that person who I love to sit and listen to. I love to ask questions or just have them speak into my journey. I always leave challenged, encouraged and often changed. I’m certainly wiser. I have also been with people whose questions or observations are efforts to create an opportunity to let me know how “right” and “wise” they are. They just want to regale us with their perceived knowledge. They are tiresome to be around. The other side of listening to either of these is the person who does not want to listen to the wise. They would rather live in their ignorance. There is a price to pay for that and can hasten the end of their life. The word fools in this verse literally means headstrong and obstinate. Children are know at times for these characteristics. When it survives to adulthood it does not just elicit a time out or a spanking . The cost can be a career, a marriage, a friendship and so much more. Today look for and listen to the wise. #BeTheEdge
