Proverbs 11:21 NIV

“Be sure of this: The wicked will not go unpunished, but those who are righteous will go free.”

Punishment or freedom, that is a clear, black and white choice. There is truly no gray in many biblical positions. Lost, saved, heaven, hell, peace, torment, light, darkness, on and on go the clear choices and realities of God’s way versus man’s. We live in a world that wants everything to be a mixture of gray shaded a little one way or the other but keeping all variations as an ambiguous always shifting “truth”. An underlying element of this verse is that the wicked work together to undermine God’s people as they usher His Kingdom into our world and culture. The actual early translations say “the wicked who work hand in hand…”. In other words it is a concerted effort. In this case the goal is for teamwork to make the nightmare work. Evil purposed being pursued describes a lot of what we see happening in the U.S. and around the world. It is various movements called by carefully crafted terms that hide their true intent of death and destruction, both physically and spiritually. The good news in this verse is that as we walk in the midst of these challenges with Godly integrity we will be set free from the bondage of the wicked. They cannot capture us with their deception. Today recognize the grayness of the world and let it be exposed in the Light of our King. #BeTheEdge
