Proverbs 12:21 NIV

“No harm overtakes the righteous, but the wicked have their fill of trouble.”‬‬

Harm, hard things, will definitely be experienced by God’s children. This verse is not contradicting the impact of the fall on His followers while they are on earth. His promise is that they will not ‘overtake’ us. They will not win. When hard things hit the believer it finds God’s Spirit there with us and He will deliver us from it. The wicked on the other hand face the hard things of life, many which enter their story as a direct result of their wickedness, alone and are destroyed by them. That is a pretty substantial difference. Steve Brown once said that for every non believer that faces the challenges of sickness, bankruptcy, divorce, cancer or death a believer does as well. Being God’s follower does not exempt us from the broken things of life. The difference is how His children go through them with Him and how they come out of them in the end. The world sees the difference and recognizes God’s presence in the story. Today allow your loving and all powerful Father to escort you through the hurdles of this world. #BeTheEdge
