“A fool finds pleasure in wicked schemes, but a person of understanding delights in wisdom.”
Here is something that is often overlooked in our battle to live righteously. We believe sin brings pleasure that we miss out on by obedience to God. In reality obedience and right living bring great pleasure. It may not be as instantaneous as sins pleasure but it also isn’t immediately followed by shame and guilt. Wisdom allows a person to see on the other side of sin and therefore choose wisely to avoid it. Without that kind of wisdom the young or immature lack the insight that will help protect them. Some translations use the word sport to describe how the wicked view sin. It becomes a treasured and fun activity. They fail to realize that in this particular sport they lose every time. They may feel like the get ahead for an inning or a quarter but ultimately they will lose when the clock runs out. 100% of the time they face the ultimate loss of their soul, it is guaranteed. Wisdom knows this and although that wise person may slip and lose an inning or quarter they know that returning to the life of Godly understanding wins big in the end. It should not be a hard choice. Godly wisdom makes it easier. Today live wisely. #BeTheEdge
