Proverbs 10:3 NIV

“The Lord does not let the righteous go hungry, but he thwarts the craving of the wicked.”

There are numerous places throughout the scriptures that we are reminded that God takes care of those who follow Him and live rightly. Even Jesus tells us to seek first God’s kingdom and His righteousness and every need will be met. Now we may not always correctly separate needs and wants but He certainly does. He is definitely letting us know that food is a need. He also reminds us, as Jesus states, hungering and thirsting for righteousness is a very real condition for His followers. He is protectively aggressive in scripture about meeting the hungers of His followers. On the other hand the for the wicked the actual meaning of the word translated “thwart” in this verse means to “thrust away”. Pretty negatively aggressive position they find themselves in with God. Their problem is that because they are lost or wicked the way they ask is out of alignment with the Kingdom of God. They are pursuing riches, power or position rather than righteousness. God is not interested in helping anyone achieve those goals when they are the motivation. Sure, they may be the ultimate result when it serves His purpose. The point is we pursue Him and He will determine what the results are. Today pursue God through living rightly. #BeTheEdge
