Proverbs 11:3 NIV

“The integrity of the upright guides, but the unfaithful are destroyed by their duplicity.”

I’m sure you’ve seen them, those peoples who have told so many lies and twisted the truth so often that they seem to have forgotten what truth even is anymore. In this verse the word “unfaithful” literally means a fraudulent person, one who perverts the truth. They have drawn outside the lines of honesty so often that they can hardly distinguish between right and wrong. They have seared their conscience as scripture would put it. Needless to say you do not want to become this person. Sadly no one does but many do. It starts as a little lie or clever deception that you get away with. After a few times it becomes an easy habit that seems relatively harmless or at least not drastic. Finally it becomes second nature. This condition of the soul leaves a person distant from God, as with any sin it cuts them off from His presence. Conversely the simple straightforwardness of a Christ follower will lead them always in the right way and, regardless of perceived outcomes, they will live a blessed life. It is a simple choice that begins early in our life but can be changed in either direction at any time. Undoing the life of deception takes a conscious effort but the result is huge. Today speak and live simple truth. #BeTheEdge

“Therefore each of you must put off falsehood and speak truthfully to your neighbor…”
